How camp is structured

Athletes Are Grouped Into Great White or Hammerhead

Athletes are assigned to one of two training groups 3 days before camp starts, then attend all four days of sessions in that group. Same great coaching, staggered start times so both groups get access to courts and coaches all day.

Day 1 (Tuesday)
Session 19:00am to 10:30am
Break10:30am to 12:00pm
Session 212:00pm to 1:30pm
Break1:30pm to 3:00pm
Session 33:00pm to 4:30pm
Day 2 (Wednesday)
Session 410:30am to 12:00pm
Break12:00pm to 1:30pm
Session 51:30pm to 3:00pm
Day 3 (Thursday)
Session 69:00am to 10:30am
Break10:30am to 12:00pm
Session 712:00pm to 1:30pm
Break1:30pm to 3:00pm
Session 83:00pm to 4:30pm
Day 4 (Friday)
Session 910:30am to 12:00pm
Break12:00pm to 1:30pm
Session 101:30pm to 3:00pm

The camp as a whole runs 8:30am to 4:30pm daily with supervising adults present throughout, so athletes can be dropped off early or picked up later than their session time if needed.

If an athlete is assigned to a session that they cannot attend based on logistics, please send us an email to info@sharksvolleyball.com with your request for alternate options.

Please note: your request may not be fulfilled due to limitations including, but not limited to, an athlete’s gender and age.

If the venue the athlete is allocated to only operates on one timetable, for example Great White, the drop-off option of 8.30am to 4.30pm will not apply on days where students start from 10.30am to 3.00pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do athletes wear to the camp?

All you have to bring is closed-in shoes and comfortable sportswear to train in. After receiving their camp shirt, athletes will be expected to wear it each day of the camp for safety reasons.

We encourage you to not bring your own volleyball.

When can athletes be dropped off and picked up?

The camp as a whole runs from 8:30am to 4:30pm each day, and we have supervising adults in attendance during this period, so athletes can be dropped off early or picked up later than their allocated training group time slot if necessary.

We ask that athletes dropped off early or picked up later than their designated time slot are respectful of staff and other athletes who are working or training.

What do athletes do during their break?

During breaks, athletes re-fuel, re-charge and re-hydrate for their next session. The camp contains 4 days of volleyball with lots of learning and high levels of physical activity, so it's important athletes are given appropriate time to rest to get the most out of training.

Some athletes bring board games, books or handballs to occupy their time.

Can I register after the camp has already started?

Yes, as long as registrations are still open!

Do athletes need to bring their own lunch?

Athletes are expected to bring their own lunch/snacks to camp each day. We do allow students to go off-site for lunch to nearby shops/restaurants, or home, with their parents' permission.

Do I get a credit for missing a session?

Unfortunately, we don't offer credits, refunds, or make-up sessions if you're unable to attend one or two sessions. If you know you'll be away for two days or more, contact us to see if you're eligible.

What to do on the first day of Sharks Camp?

Arrive 30 minutes before your allocated training group's starting time. You'll be greeted by our staff, who will check your name off the roll. Athletes will then be given their camp shirt, water bottle, and have their assigned number written on their leg/arm.

From there our coaches will look after the rest!

Do We Accept FairPlay Vouchers?

Unfortunately, due to certain government rules and regulations, Sharks Volleyball are not permitted to accept Fair Play Vouchers for any of our programs.
